Tanning
Packages
Tanning packages are the heart and soul of your tanning business and is how you
get your clients tanning. You configure each package to use points, minutes, sessions,
or unlimited use and how many units (points/minutes/sessions) come with the package.
You can even create an “Upgrade” package so your clients can move from an entry-level
package to an intermediate or high-level package.
An incentive to get your clients using their packages is to put an expiration date
on the package. This way you don’t have old packages out there from years gone by,
and any unused units are an added bonus for your business.
Assign Beds
You assign which types of tanning beds can be used with each package you create.
This gives you the ability to create almost any type of package that your clients
may want.
For instance you may have an intro package that provides 10 tans for $20 that utilizes
only your level one beds. Or perhaps you want a package that encompasses all of
your beds, or only the high-end beds; its really up to you and the pricing scheme
you want to accomplish.
Assign Days of the Week
Most of your tanning packages will probably be available Sunday through Saturday.
However, you may want to create a package that is available on your slow days and
reduce the price some to incite your clients to visit on those days.
Assign the Hours of the Day
Taking it one step further, you can assign what hours of the day a particular package
is available. For example, you may want to encourage some of your clients to visit
early in the morning. So, you could create an “Early Bird” package that is available
from 8:00am until 10:00am.
Memberships
Memberships are a great way to build a revenue stream month after month. But what
are memberships? The answer is, it can be different things to different retailers.
In Solis, we tried to accommodate most retailers and as such, memberships have three
parts:
- How its paid for (Membership Type)
- Tanning packages if included (Included Packages)
- Any discounts on products and services (Sales Discount %)
Membership Types
This is how you define how the client will pay for the membership. This can be a:
- One time fee that expires after a number of months
- A monthly fee that expires after a number of months
- A monthly fee that does not expire
When you have a membership that is recurring, Solis runs the client’s credit card
or Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) each month for the membership amount.
You have flexibility in the pricing of the membership because Solis allows for a
setup fee (one time charge) a monthly fee and you can prorate the first month if
you desire.

Included Packages
In Solis, your memberships can include tanning packages if you like. Simply point
to the tanning packages the client receives when she purchases the membership.
Sales Discount Percentages
You can provide discounts to clients that purchase certain memberships. There is
a separate discount percentage for:
- Merchandise
- Tanning
- Packages Services
So as you can see, Solis provides you a tool to set up a memberships that are tailored
to your business and your client’s needs.
